Membership Levels and Development Path

The PCA competency structure sets standards for strictly defined stages of professional advancement.

A

PCA Candidate (Student)

For students and individuals in the preparatory stage. No independent practice under the PCA banner.

Can obtain: access to materials, participation in training, internship/hospitation program.

B

PCA Psychosocial Counsellor – Level 1

Beginner practitioner. Work scope: psychoeducation, support, skills coaching, service orientation, goal-oriented and short-term work.

Profile: documented preparation, verification, mandatory supervision.

C

PCA Psychosocial Counsellor – Level 2

Intermediate practitioner. Structured work, supportive intervention in stress and crises, group work.

Requirements: longer experience, CPD, supervision, audit.

D

PCA Psychosocial Counsellor – Level 3

Advanced practitioner. Complex work, support coordination, interdisciplinary team work, program design.

E

PCA Psychosocial Counsellor – Level 4

Senior practitioner/expert. Contribution to standards, publications, training, environment development.

Professional Ethics

Adherence to the PCA code of ethics is the foundation of our practice. Every member is obliged to care for the client’s welfare and the highest standards of confidentiality.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

We require our specialists to constantly improve their qualifications. We distinguish active CPD (courses, exams) and passive CPD (publications, reading).

Central Register

Publicly available database of certified specialists, guaranteeing transparency of permissions and qualifications.

Important: All permissions and certificates are publicly verifiable in the Central Register.

How to join?

A simple path to join the PCA community.

Submit an application

Fill out the online application form and attach required documents confirming education.

Formal verification

The qualification committee checks compliance of documents with PCA standards.

Membership fee

After positive verification, pay the entry and membership fee (valid until March 31 of the next year).

04

Register entry & welcome

You receive a membership certificate, entry in the Register, and access to the Member Area.
